Greek Island Odyssey

The absolute island hopping experience! Explore the magic of the Aegean and discover the most famous Greek islands on this custom made two-week itinerary.

Day 1 – Athens -  Arrival at the Greek capital

Outline:  Flight arrival in Athens - Meet with our representative & transfer to hotel - check-in - free evening to explore the city

Overnight in Athens

Highlights:  Explore the streets of Athens and feel the rhythm of the city. Discover the Greek souvlaki and enjoy a drink in Psirri – the hip neighborhood of Athens – or walk the streets of Plaka until a taverna catches your eye or tickles your nose!

Day 2 - Athens – Acropolis, Acropolis Museum and city highlights

Outline:  Breakfast – Depart on a panoramic drive through city highlights & visit the Acropolis– enjoy lunch at a traditional taverna – visit the magnificent Acropolis Museum – free afternoon

Overnight in Athens

Highlights: Discover the history and culture of Greece, unfolding through the ages, with the help of our expert guide. Marvel at the buildings of the hill of Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Erechtheum, the Temple of Athena Nikki and the Propylaia. At the Acropolis Museum, marvel at not only the findings, but also the building itself, designed meticulously in order to bring out the beauty and poetry of the archaeological treasures it displays. Enjoy city highlights like the Temple of Zeus, the Olympic Stadium, Hadrian’s Arc and the Royal Palace. In the afternoon take some time to explore on your own and even do some shopping.

Day 3 -  Athens – Argolis Adventure

Outline:  Early breakfast – Depart for Argolis in the morning – Visit the Corinth Canal and Mycenae – Lunch at Mycenae – Short stop at Nafplion  - Visit Epidaurus – Return to Athens in the afternoon

Overnight in Athens

Highlights:  Stop for a photo-op at the awe-inspiring Corinth Canal. Continue to Mycenae to visit the Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon, the Lions Gate and the ruined Palace, where the Trojan War comes to life. After lunch, arrive to the picturesque town of Nafplion, located in the Gulf of Argolis under the rocky promontory of Akronafplia and the fortified hill of Palamidi. On the way back, visit the Theatre of Epidaurus, famous for its remarkable acoustics.

Day 4 - Mykonos  - Arrive at the White Gem of the Cyclades

Outline:  Leisurely breakfast – Transfer to Athens airport to catch your flight to Mykonos – arrival transfer & check-in at hotel – afternoon at leisure

Overnight in Mykonos

Highlights:  Take in the sun, the endless blue of the Aegean and the dazzling white of the houses. Soak by the sea, sunbathe and just relax!

Day 5 - Mykonos – Simply beautiful

Outline:  Day at leisure – explore Mykonos Town, the beaches and the nightlife

Overnight in Mykonos

Highlights:  Explore the narrow winding alleys, traditional whitewashed buildings and charming shops of Mykonos Town. Visit Manto Mavrogenous square, the glorious windmills, and bustling Little Venice. At the waterfront, watch the pelicans being fed. Enjoy a swim and maybe lunch at one of the island’s sandy beaches. Then, at night, get ready for the never-ending party that is Mykonos!

Day 6 -  Mykonos – The Sacred Island of Delos

Outline:  Breakfast – Morning tour of the neighboring island of Delos – afternoon at leisure

Overnight in Mykonos

Highlights:  Delos, once a Sacred Island, is the legendary birthplace of the Sun God Apollo and his twin sister Artemis. Today, the only remaining inhabitants are its treasured ruins and their caretakers. Visit the marbled streets of the Agora and Sacred Way, the Sanctuary of Apollo and the theatre.  View the remains of a Hellenistic Quarter with its harbours, water houses and luxurious villas. Marvel at the spectacular Avenue of the Lions, where five proud Naxian marble beasts from the 7th Century BC crouch, vigilant guardians of the Sacred Lake, which stands dry today.

Day 7 – Santorini – The beauty of the Caldera

Outline:  Leisurely breakfast – Transfer to Mykonos port to catch your ferry to Santorini – arrival transfer and check-in at the hotel - afternoon at leisure

Overnight in Santorini

Highlights:  Take a last morning dip in Mykonos before moving on to Santorini, the Queen of the Cyclades. Enjoy your ferry ride and the stunning view of the steep cliffs as you approach Santorini. After your check-in, just find a cozy spot and take in the views!

Day 8  - Santorini – Sunset Catamaran Cruise

Outline:  Leisurely breakfast and morning at leisure– early afternoon transfer to the harbor – catamaran sunset cruise and barbeque dinner on board

Overnight in Santorini

Highlights:  Sail with a luxurious Catamaran around the crystal clear blue waters of Santorini. Visit the Red and White Beaches, sail past Akrotiri and into the caldera and hot springs. Continue to Palea Kameni Island for some time for swimming and snorkelling. A delicious barbeque dinner will be prepared and served on board while the magical sunset appears on the horizon.

Day 9  - Santorini – Island tour & winery visit

Outline:  Leisurely breakfast– tour of the island with visit to local winery – afternoon at leisure

Overnight in Santorini

Highlights: Start with a scenic drive to the picturesque village of Oia, boasting the most superb views of the caldera. Take time to stroll around the narrow streets and explore its quaint boutiques. Continue with a visit to one of the most reputable wineries on the island to enjoy a tour of the distillery and experience wine tasting of the fine wines produced. Afterwards, visit Fira, the capital, perched on the edge of an impressive cliff 260m high. Many of its beautiful buildings, blue domed churches and sun-bathed veranda were constructed during the Venetian invasion and offer stunning views over the submerged volcano. After the tour, you can stay to explore on your own and shop around the charming boutiques.

Day 10  - Crete – Discover Elounda, the island’s pocket of luxury

Outline:  Leisurely breakfast – Transfer to Santorini port to catch your fast ferry to Heraklion – arrival transfer and check-in at the hotel - afternoon at leisure

Overnight in Elounda

Highlights:  Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and perhaps a morning stroll in the whitewashed alleys of Santorini, before you are transferred to Santorini port to take the fast ferry to Crete. Upon arrival in Heraklion, you will be transferred to your hotel in the Elounda area, the island’s pocket of luxury and home to the best beach resorts in Crete. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure on the beach.

Day 11 - Knossos – The highlight of the Minoan civilization

Outline:  Early morning breakfast – Morning tour of Knossos archaeological site & Heraklion Archaeological Museum – afternoon at leisure

Overnight in Elounda

Highlights:  The palace of Knossos is one of the major must-see archaeological sites in Greece, presenting visitors with a rare glimpse into Minoan civilization. Accompanied by a first class guide who will offer in-depth personal attention, you will walk around the ruins and excavations of the vast ancient palace, and learn about the Greek mythological tales that are linked to it. Continue with a visit to the recently renovated Archaeological Museum in Heraklion, where the most magnificent collection of Minoan art and culture in the world is housed.

Day 12 – Crete – Agios Nikolaos harbor & Spinalonga Island

Outline: Breakfast – Depart for your tour of Agios Nikolaos town & Spinalonga islet – afternoon at leisure

Overnight in Elounda

Highlights:  Start your day with a drive to Plaka to embark a traditional fishing boat, and sail to the island of Spinalonga, fortified by the Venetians and used at the beginning of this century as a leper colony. Walk around the islet and explore the restored premises. Then on to the town of Agios Nikolaos, for a stroll around its charming center, with colorful cafes around the lake and with nice little shops. Next stop, the 15th century church of Panagia Kera, to admire its magnificent frescoes, and then drive to the picturesque village of Kritsa, stretched by the slopes of Kastellos mountain, for a walk around its colorful alleys, before you return to your hotel.

Day 13 - Depart Crete and Return to Athens

After your late-morning check-out, our Greece a la carte representative will meet you and drive you to Heraklion airport. From there you will fly to Athens to take your connecting flight back home.
