Day 1 outline: Begin this exciting tour with a scenic drive through the Valley of Levadia to Osios Loukas - the Monastery of Blessed Luke of Stiri that boasts stunning panoramic views of the western slope of Mount Helikonas. The tenth century monastery holds the relics of the hermit by the name of Luke (896 -953 AD). Rich mosaics and frescos which decorate the interior walls of the monastery comprise some of the more important examples of Byzantine art in Greece. Continue your journey to the town of Delphi to spend the night. Overnight in Delphi.
Day 2 outline: Start your day with a visit to the archaeological site at Delphi. Delphi is by common consent the most spectacularly beautiful ancient site in Greece. In antiquity Delphi was regarded as the centre of the world and to this, and its oracle, the place owed its prestige, which extended far beyond the Greek world. The visit to Delphi is divided into three parts: the Sanctuary of Apollo with the Stadion, the Castalian spring & the Sanctuary of Athena at Marmaria and the Museum. Return to Athens in the early evening via the picturesque plains of Levadia.
