Continue to Phaestos, an important centre of Minoan civilization, and visit the palace with its superb architectural composition and construction, considered to be the finest and most typical of all Minoan palaces. Drive on the coast to Matala, an area renowned for its wonderful sandy beach and the caves carved into the rocks. Enjoy time at leisure to swim and have lunch before your return.
