Outline: Depart by ferry boat to the ancient harbour of Delos. Once a Sacred Island, it is the legendary birthplace of the Sun God Apollo and his twin sister Artemis. Its religious significance and strategic location enabled Delos to flourish for 500 years. Today, the only remaining inhabitants are its treasured ruins and their caretakers. Among others, visit the remains of the Hellenistic luxurious villas, including the Houses of Cleopatra, the Masks & Dionyssos, as well as the spectacular Avenue of the Lions, marble beasts from the 7th Century BC that crouch, vigilant guardians of the Sacred Lake.
